JAMMU, Feb 23: Internati-onal Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu,  today organised a lecture on ‘AI, Big Data and Algorithms: How the Digital Coup is Transforming the Business World’ under ICccR and HRM’s Prominent Lecture Series.
The resource person for the lecture was Dr Subhendu Dey, Director, Rajalaxmi Business School, Chennai.  He is PhD in Business Administration from AMU, Aligarh, an alumnus from IIM Kozhikode and a mechanical Engineer from Osmania University, Hyderabad. The lecture was organised with the objective of acquainting the participants with the knowledge of Big Data and AI and its implications, career avenues and the transforming business landscape.
Dr Subhendu Dey, while discussing the transformational impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and Big Data upon individuals, societies and business houses, expanded upon the need for business professionals to be aware of such knowledge in the present times.  He elaborated that despite AI and Big Data, which are already prevalent and in use across numerous organisations globally, the biggest opportunities pertaining to the same are yet to be tapped. He also elaborated upon the magnified impact of AI and Big Data in the coming decade, as manufacturing, retailing, transportation, finance, health care, law, advertising, insurance, entertainment, education and virtually every other industry is upon the verge to transform their core processes and business models to take advantage of such data. He also threw light upon the several bottlenecks in terms of the management, implementation and business imagination alongwith the dangers to society.
Earlier, Professor Deepak Raj Gupta, Director, ICccR & HRM, JU, said that keeping in view the extreme competition for analytical talent, gaining knowledge in the domain of AI, Big Data and Algorithms is seemingly quite relevant for the purpose of effective decision making and considering it as a value proposition that is important to the individuals who are looking to begin a career or to sustain a career within this field.
The lecture was attended by the students, research scholars and faculty members at ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu.
