NEW DELHI, Mar 25:
In order to clear extra rush of passengers during the summer, Railways have decided to run several special trains to ease the load on regular service.
Special trains for Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Darbhanga, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Barauni and Udhampur among other stations would be pressed into service from April to clear summer rush, said a senior Northern Railway official.
According to the plan, Old Delhi – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Old Delhi Tri-weekly AC Suvidha Express will be pressed into service from April 2 to June 30 and the special train will make total 78 up and down trips during the period.
The special train will depart from Old Delhi station at 11.05 PM on every Monday, Thursday and Saturday from April 2 to June 30 to reach Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 12.15 PM the next day.
In the return direction, the train will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 8.15 PM on every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday from April 3 to July 1 to reach Old Delhi station at 10.15 AM the next day.
Comprising of 12 AC-3 tier coaches, the Tri-Weekly AC Suvidha Express train will stop at Panipat, Ambala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Pathankot, Jammu Tawi and Udhampur stations enroute in both the directions.
New Delhi- Mumbai Central- New Delhi Bi-Weekly AC Superfast Suvidha Express and Ahmedabad – Delhi Sarai Rohilla- Ahmedabad Weekly AC Superfast Suvidha Express are also being launched from next month keeping the Summer rush in mind.
New Delhi- Barauni- New Delhi Bi-Weekly AC Suvidha Express special train and Old Delhi – Darbhanga – Old Delhi Bi-Weekly AC Suvidha Express Special train will be launched next month to clear Bihar bound passengers.
Hazrat Nizamuddin- Pune – Hazrat Nizamuddin Weekly AC Express Summer Special train will make total 26 trips during the summer to clear extra rush during this period.
Anand Vihar – Udhampur – Anand Vihar Tri-Weekly Express Special Train will make total 78 trips and New Delhi- Mumbai Central- New Delhi Bi-Weekly AC Superfast Suvidha Express will make total 32 trips during the period. (PTI)
