JAMMU : Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today chaired a meeting of engineers of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department and took stock of present status of PHE projects and water supply position in Gandhi Nagar constituency.
Kavinder Gupta instructed the engineers to look at every possible option to improve the capacity of existing establishments and moot new proposals keeping in view the future needs. He called for formulating plans for the revival of defunct water schemes to maintain and augment the supply. He directed the engineers to speed up the pace of work on all ongoing projects and complete these within the shortest possible time.
Strategies and plans were also discussed to find long term solution to end water scarcity.
The Speaker also emphasized proper utilization of water resources, saying the government and society need to come together and make conscious efforts to conserve water.
Engineers of different wings of PHE Department apprised the Speaker about the present status of various ongoing development works being executed in the area.
Executive Engineers, Assistant Engineers of PHE and allied department were present in the meeting.
