JAMMU, May 7: Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta reviewed the revised Master Plan of Jammu city at a meeting with concerned officers, here today.
Vice Chairman JDA, Mubarak Singh briefed the outlines of revised Master Plan and highlighted the importance of the Master Plan- 2032.
Speaker was informed that the area of Jammu Master Plan 2021 was 305 square kilometer but the same has been increased to 652.32 square kilometer under the revised Master Plan with estimated population of Jammu at 20.50 lakh by 2032. The revised Master Plan would be applicable up to Supwal village in Samba district from present jurisdiction up to Vijaypur only.
Kavinder Gupta exhorted upon the concerned that all major changes which are to be incorporated in the new Master Plan should be properly re-examined strictly in accordance with the law. He further stressed upon synchronized action from all stakeholders.
It was told that the present revised Master Plan for Jammu city has been conceived to underline the vision of developing Jammu as a planned metro polis focusing on planned development, preservation of historic city, rejuvenation of urban environment, eradication problems of transportation, housing, adaptive mixed use policy and appropriate provision of social and physical infrastructure.
