SRINAGAR, May 17: Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today reviewed the security and other related arrangements for the upcoming Budget Session of the State Legislature beginning here on May 25.
Director General of Police, K. Rajendra Kumar and ADGP, Security, Dilbagh Singh briefed the meeting about the security arrangements put in place for the session.
The Speaker instructed the officers for installation of X-Ray Screening System for the scanning of hand bags, brief cases etc and mail during the course of the Session within the premises of the Legislature Complex and MLAs Hostel Srinagar and installation of Hot Line Telephone within the security booth.
The Speaker asked the Traffic Department to ensure proper regulation of traffic leading to the Legislature Complex and MLAs Hostel during the entire session. He asked the authorities of Fire & Emergency Services for provision of adequate fire tenders within the Assembly premises and MLAs Hostel to meet any kind of situation.
Mr. Gupta asked the officers of Public Health and Power Development Departments to provide uninterrupted safe drinking water and power supply to the Legislature Complex and MLAs Hostel.
He asked the Health Department to provide adequate medical facility both Allopathic and ISM along with Life Saving Drugs, Oxygen and two well equipped ambulances besides a team of Physicians/Surgeon Specialists within the Assembly Complex and MLA’s Hostel.
Director Information and Public Relations, Muneer-ul-Islam informed the Speaker that all arrangements have been put in place for the coverage of proceedings of both the Houses besides facilities to be provided to the print and electronic media.
The senior officers of different departments including Fire & Emergency Services, Estates, Public Health Engineering, Power Development Department, JKTDC, Health, Floriculture, Government Press and BSNL gave details regarding the arrangements made by their respective departments for forthcoming Assembly session.
Among others, Director General Police, K. Rajendra, Commissioner Secretary, GAD, Gazzanfer Hussain, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Asgar Samoon, DG, Fire & Emergency Services, R. S. Sodhi, ADG, CID, S. M. Sahai, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Javaid Gillani, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Lone, Directors Floriculture and Estate, besides officers and officials of line departments and Assembly Secretariat were also attended the meeting.
