KISHTWAR, May 17: Asserting that Jammu and Kashmir was moving forward towards prosperity, Member Legislative Council (MLC) Firdous Tak has lambasted National Conference and Congress for its misrule, holding it responsible for the present state of affairs.
Concluding his week-long tour of mountainous Dachan tehsil, the legislator said that the two political parties, which governed the State for most part of the last half a century, today shed crocodile tears and project themselves as the champion of peoples’ cause.
“The two parties are directly responsible for the political, administrative, economic and social backwardness of Jammu and Kashmir”, he said.
During his tour Tak visited Dangdooru, Sewarbati, Tundar, Sagarna, Sounder, Suid, Reasri, Janakpur, Gum, Pohor, Thachna, Lopara, Reasri, Chicha, Sirchi, Bhatpora, Trungi, Khraipaknu and Pinjrari and held public darbars in order to ascertain the problems being faced by general masses.
He issued several on the spot instructions, while assuring that other issues will be raised with the concerned departments for early redressal.
“PDP under the dynamic leadership of its patron Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed gave a new dimension to the state politics bringing accountability, transparency and public service, which otherwise were unknown in the power corridors of State”, he said.
Tak said that present Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti was carrying forward the agenda envisaged by her father and party patron and was working day and night to strengthen democratic institutions and bring respite for the masses.
He assured the people that work on much needed Dangdooru-Dachan-Marwah road will commence soon. He issued on the spot instruction for construction of water reservoirs at Tander, Bhatpura and Lopara and water supply schemes at Sirchi, Reasri and Gum.
On the public demand he asked Rural Development Department to focous on construction of lanes and drains and pacca paths under MGNREGA during the current financial year at Pinjrari, Gum, Bhatpora and Trungi.
