JAMMU: Government Girls High school Gandhi Nagar today organized cultural and prize distribution event “Harsho-o-Ullas” in the sprawling school auditorium.
The programme started with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the Chief Guest, Speaker Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta.
Senior education department functionaries including Joint Directors School Education Department Jammu Charandeep Singh and Darshan Lal, ZEO Gandhi Nagar, Principal GHSS Shastri Nagar, Principal BHSS Gandhi Nagar, besides committee members of the school and General Secretary Teachers forum (JKTF) Ganesh Khajuria were also present.
In his address, speaker lauded the efforts of the students for putting up a wonderful show which was a beautiful amalgam of scholarly and cultural pursuits. He also reiterated the importance of preserving the cultural legacies and traditions.
Earlier, the students presented a scintillating show depicting state’s rich culture and carrying messages against drug abuse and other addictions, highlighting theme of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP), Swacch Bharat Abhiyanand various other social issues.
Singers and musicians created a wondrous ambiance in school auditorium by their soulful rendition of Dogri songs, while the young dancers captivated everyone with their rhythmic movements on Punjabi and Dogri numbers.
The Speaker also distributed prizes among meritorious students, teachers and officials of the school.
