SPA discusses demands

JAMMU, June 24: J&K State Pensioners Association (SPA) has made a strong plea to the Government to immediately release 6% DA installment from January 2015 in respect of State Pensioners and employees in cash on Central pattern.
In a statement issued, SPA has demanded hike in medical allowance to at least Rs 1000 per month in view of rapidly rising medicare expenses and prices of essential commodities.
SPA, president, Krishan Singh expressed serious concern that at international as well as national levels the older persons are being treated with care and compassion to make their living a bit comfortable.
The president, SPA pointed out that pension of Central pensioners is raised to 100% after age from 80 to 100 years respectively but State Pensioners are still waiting for similar orders from the State Government.
SPA has urged for simplifying physical verification before Treasury Officers every year which they personally go for verification.
