The former PCC chief refreshed the memory of Vohra as Chief Constitutional Authority in the J&K State, representing the Union of India, on the level of hardships flood victims were facing due to non-availability of relief from the Central Govt. He brought to Mr Vohra’s notice that thousands of dwellings were completely destroyed along with the belongings.
Prof Soz further stressed the fact that according to a survey, it was merely 4% of the flood victims who had got some relief through insurance companies. He also explained to the Governor that many flood victims belonged to BPL category and their hardships of life can be very well imagined.
