JAMMU, Apr 4: Senior Congress leader and party candidate for Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha Constituency, Ghulam Nabi Azad, PCC chief and former Union Minister, Saif-ud-Din Soz and chairperson Social Welfare Board, Khem Lata Wakhloo today visited Jagti Township and addressed a meeting of camp inmates there.
Both Mr Azad and Prof Soz highlighted the policies and programmes of Congress Party and recalled the achievements of its 10 year rule at Centre and five years of Coalition Government in the State.
They also highlighted the welfare schemes undertaken by both Union and State Governments for Kashmir migrants and said that construction of Jagti Township was also an outcome of the same.
The migrants highlighted their problems and expressed concern over the long duration power cuts which has made their life hell especially in scorching summer heat.
They demanded that power be supplied on the same analogy to the camp as is supplied in other area of the State and there should be no power cut more than eight hours schedule in a day.
Prof Soz assured that he will take up the issue with authorities of PDD and call a meeting of the officers to settle the issue once for all.
