BHADERWAH, Dec 19: A sorcerer was arrested for raping a class 12th girl on the pretext of curing her ailment in Seri Chakrana area here.
As per police sources, a class 12th girl hailing from village Paryote along with her father had gone to sorcerer identified as Bodh Raj, son of Zamit Ram for some treatment at village Seri Chakrana.
The sorcerer asked girl’s father to bring some grains from the shop and later offered the girl to intake it.
As the girl intook the grains laced with some sedatives, she felt unconscious and the sorcerer raped her.
On reaching home, the girl narrated the ordeal to her mother, who along with other family members lodged a complaint with police station Bhaderwah against the sorcerer.
A case under FIR number 198/14 under Section 376 RPC has been registered at Bhaderwah police station and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
On specific inputs, police team from Bhaderwah police station led by SHO Inspector Bandeshwar Manhas arrested the accused from a hideout.
The girl was restored to family members after conducting medical examination.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
