JAMMU, June 17: A 37-year-old man died while his mother grievously injured after a vehicle they were travelling in collided with a road parapet here at Kahna Chak area today.
Police said that Sanjay son of Dwarka Nath and his mother Santoshi were travelling in a private car when it collided with a parapet near Sua area in the jurisdiction of the Police Station Kahna Chak, after the driver lost control over the vehicle.
In the accident, both the mother-son duo suffered injuries. They were taken to Government Medical College Jammu where one of them, Sanjay, was declared as dead on arrival, said police, adding that the other family member, who was grievously injured, was responding to the treatment.
Police have registered a case FIR number 72/2023 under sections 279, 337, and 304(A) of the IPC and taken up further investigations.
