JAMMU, June 12: A meeting of Private School Teachers Association, (PSTA) Jammu was held here, today under the chairmanship of Vijay Dutta in which various issues faced by private school teachers were discussed.
The meeting alleged that some private schools were not complying with directives of the Directorate of School Education, Jammu and instead they have developed the schools as money minting centers at the cost of students.
Vijay Dutta, while addressing the meeting said Directorate of School Education has issued notification under which all private schools were directed that the Summer vacation will commence form June 1 and schools should remain closed and no activity will go on in the schools in which students are involved. But some of the private schools within Jammu city are regularly taking the classes under the grab of extra classes, over time classes and are charging fee from students to mint money in violation of Government order.
The meeting said it is totally against the Government directives under which instructions have been given that all schools of district Jammu should remain closed during Sumer vacations.
Dutta said that the students are already burdened with present educational load as well as scorching heat and private schools are now harming the students so far their personality protection to good life and balanced mind is concerned.
