Solve issues of border refugees on priority: Vikramaditya

JAMMU, Oct 10: Expressing his grave concern over loss of human lives and properties due to unabated shelling on the borders, senior leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Vikramaditya Singh today asked both State and Central Government to formulate a contingency plan to provide relief to the people affected due to prevailing hostile situation on the borders.
In a statement issued here today, Vikramaditya Singh regretted that in the last one week hundreds and hundreds of people have been forced to leave their homes and hearths due to shelling from across the border. “It is a high time for the government to formulate a comprehensive plan to solve problems of these hapless people who have become refugees in their own State”, he said and added that recent displacement of the people due to shelling from across the border has once again raised the long standing issue of refugee problem in Jammu region.
Mr Vikramaditya Singh said that recent shelling has not only claimed precious human lives but also rendered hundreds of cattle injured. Hundreds of houses have been damaged in the shelling which rendered a large border population home-less, he observed and asked the authorities to take some concrete steps to solve problems of these hapless people without wasting any time.
