Srinagar, Mar 26: A soldier was killed and nine others suffered injuries when a speedy truck hit army’s search party vehicle at Awantipora area of South Kashmir today.
A truck bearing registration number PB-06V-5657 collided with army’s search party vehicle of 329 Field Regiment of Victor Force at Awantipora along Srinagar-Jammu highway. Nine soldiers and the truck driver along with its conductor were injured in the mishap.
All the injured army personnel were shifted to 92 Base Hospital in Badamibagh, Srinagar while as the truck driver was taken to nearby hospital where from he was referred to SMHS hospital for specialized treatment.
At army hospital in Badamibagh, one among the injured soldiers Kuldeep Singh succumbed to injuries. The condition of the truck driver is stated to be critical.
A case (under FIR No: 47/2018 U/S 279, 337 RPC) has been registered and further investigation was taken up.
