Social organizations, trade unions celebrate I-Day with patriotic fervour, enthusiasm

JAMMU, Aug 16: Various social organizations, trade unions and NGOs celebrated 71st Independence Day with fervour across Jammu region yesterday.
Indian Institute of Public Administration J&K Regional Branch celebrated the Independence Day in the IIPA Complex here , yesterday by hoisting the Tricolor. The major attraction of the programme was the participation of differently abled children of Sahyog India who jointly hoisted National Flag with Nisar Ahmed Khan , IGP (retd). The Flag hoisting was followed by National Anthem remembering the great sacrifices of martyrs.
To mark the 71st Independence Day and Janamashtami Bharatiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan organized an impressive cultural programme with enthusiasm at Open Air Theatre, Durga Bhawan Janipur. The function was inaugurated by Sehjjad Hussain Poonchi, president, All India Culture Association as chief guest who unfurled the National Flag along with V K Magotra former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity Ministry of Information and Broadcasting GoI, M L Dogra Chairman, Bharatiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, Master Kartar Chand, renowned Music Composer, Dr Tara Singh Charak, former Deputy Director, Health Department, and R P Amla former Assistant of Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting GoI who were the guests of honour.
In connection with celebration of Independence Day a grand function was organized by All Jammu & Kashmir Christian Forum at Amphalla Chowk here in which Markes Gill State president of the Forum was the chief guest who along with other dignitaries hoisted the National Flag.
On the occasion of 71st Independence Day a colourful function was organized by Traders Association Shaktinagar-Rajpura Jammu in which Th. Manmohan Singh president of the Association unfurled the National Flag at Shakti Nagar Chowk. Yash Pal Gupta president Retailers Association Jammu province and Pawan Shastri president Yatri Bhawan Haridwar also graced the occasion.
On the occasion of the 71st Independence Day Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF) organized a grand function here yesterday in which Neeraj Anand president of the Federation unfurled the National Flag.
The 71st Independence Day was also celebrated by Aadarsh Bhartiya Samaj with enthusiasm and gaiety. During the function Ex NB Sub, Ranjit Singh hoisted the National Flag on behalf of Samaj. Master Akshit Sharma along with a group of children presented patriotic songs on the occasion.
The Independence Day was celebrated by National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) with great enthusiasm and charm. The function was organized by the Union at Pacca Danga Chowk under the chairmanship of NMC chief Subash Shastri who also unfurled the National Flag on the occasion. On the occasion of 71st Independence Day yesterday Dogra Brahman Pratindhi Sabha hoisted the National Flag at Chankaya Chowk Jammu. The flag was unfurled by president of the Sabha, Ved Parkash Sharma in which all the members of the Sabha were present.
Shri Bawa Bhair Devsthan Trust president Balwant Singh along with his team members of the Trust hoisted the National Flag at New Plots here yesterday on the occasion of 71st Independence Day. The Trust also celebrated the Krishan Janamashtami with fervor and gaiety.
The 71st Independence Day was also celebrated by National Incredible Literacy Mission at its head office Roop Nagar Jammu with great enthusiasm and fervor. On the occasion National Flag was unfurled by Thakur K D Kurhan, Chairman of the NILM.
Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor by Sahyog India at Prerna Institute of Rehabilitation and Research, Tanda R S Pura. On the occasion the special children of Sahyog India remembered the martyrs who laid down their lives for the freedom of the country. They expressed their love by waiving the Tricolors in their hands and by presenting the National Anthem in the honour of the martyrs. The programme was organized under the able guidance of Dr D K Kapoor, chairman Sahyog India.
Bharat Vikas Parishad Bahu Branch celebrated the Independence Day as Sankalp Parva with great zeal and enthusiasm yesterday and asked the members of the Branch to dedicate themselves to social cause and share their ideas to make a New India. K R Padha retired Director Public Service Commission was the chief guest on the occasion.
The National Flag was hoisted at Shakti Park, Sector 9 Trikuta Nagar.
The 71st Independence Day was celebrated with performing a Hawan and Yagya and chanting of Vedic mantras which was followed by hoisting of National Flag by general secretary of the Samaj Balwan Singh.
The 71st Independence Day was also celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor by Jammu Development Council under the chairmanship of K L Abrol its president and Balwainder Singh its general secretary who hoisted the Tricolour at Chowk Chabutra Jammu. The members of the Council and respectable citizens attended the function.
PHE Mechanical & Civil Field Staff Workers Welfare Union, Jammu province also celebrated the 71st Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor here at Company Bagh Dogra Chowk yesterday. Balbder Raj the provincial president of the Union hoisted the National Flag.
Shree Lakshmi Narayan Samaj Sevak and People Welfare Samiti, Gandhi Nagar hoisted the National Flag on the occasion of Independence Day yesterday at Gandhi Nagar. A large number of men and women attended the function on the occasion.
S P Sapolia convener of the Samiti hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering.
The 71st Independence Day was also celebrated by Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha at Shalamar Road here. The chief patrons of the Sabha Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, T R Gupta, Amar Nath Gupta, Yash Paul Gupta and Jugal Mahajan accompanied by Romesh Chander Gupta president of the Sabha unfurled the National Flag on the occasion which was followed by National Anthem and release of colourful balloons.
Raman Suri, President Lakhdata Bazar Businessmen Welfare Association, Jammu along with his whole team of the office bearers and members of Lakhdata Bazar hoisted the tricolour at Lakhdata Bazar on 71st Independence Day. After Flag Hoisting ceremony, National Anthem was played. In his speech, Suri asked the younger generation to spread the message of brotherhood, national integrity and communal harmony.
Balgran a charitable Home for Destitute Children, Channi Rama, Jammu celebrated the 71st Independence Day with great enthusiasm and charm yesterday in which the Vice Chancellor of University of Jammu, Dr R D Sharma was the chief guest who hoisted the National Flag. The programme started by Saraswati Vandana followed by welcome address of S N Sharma president Balgran.
Sudhar Sabha Gole Talab Tillo organized a function yesterday to celebrate the 71st Independence Day. The function was held at Sudhar Sabha Chowk, Gole and the president of the Sabha Rattan Chand unfurled the National Flag.
The 71st Independence Day was also celebrated by Sewa Bharti at Disha Girls Hostel Pouni Chak. Project Faah Jammu performed flag hoisting followed by Hawan and songs on Independence Day as well as Krishna Janamashtami.
Jammu Welfare Organization (JWO) along with a team of workers led by Kasturi Lal Gupta its president and Ramesh Bhat its general secretary congratulated the countrymen and people of the State on the 71st Independence Day during a grand function which was held in Roop Nagar area yesterday to celebrate the Independence Day.
On the occasion Gupta and Bhat hoisted the National Flag in presence of the large number of gathering which was followed by National Anthem and colourful cultural programme. On the occasion a solemn pledge was taken to work for the unity and integrity of the nation to frustrate the designs of the forces who are trying to sow the seeds of hatred and disintegration.
Pensioners Welfare Association (PWA) also held a function in connection with the celebration of 71st Independence Day at Ganderbal in Srinagar Kashmir under the chairmanship of its patron and a veteran Trade Unionist Mir Ghulam Rasool. On the occasion glowing tributes were paid to freedom fighters of the country and their sacrifices were recalled. In his address Mir said that still the nation has to go a long way in attaining the dreams of freedom fighters and a crusade on national level needs to be launched to fight against poverty, corruption casteism, communalism, unemployment and other social evils.
Udhampur Development Council (UDC) organized a grand function on the occasion of 71st Independence Day yesterday. Anil Paba president UDC hoisted the National Flag on the occasion. Parvesh Parihar, general secretary of UDC, Vikas Upadhaya, Rakesh Padha along with other members were present.
Dogra Sadar Sabha Bishnah organized a colourful function in connection with celebration of 71st Independence Day in which large number of people including Sarpanches, Panches, Namberdars and Chowkidars participated. Former Minister and president, DSS Gulchain Singh Charak hoisted the National Flag on the occasion who also addressed the gathering and recalled the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
In connection with celebration of 71st Independence Day a grand function was organized by Tumal Welfare Association , Anand Nagar Bohri yesterday under the chairmanship of its president R L Koul. The BJP MLCs Surinder Ambardar and Ajay Bharti along with BJP displaced District president Chand Ji Bhat were special guests on the occasion who hoisted the National Tricolor and paid tributes to freedom fighters. The function was also attended by H L Bhat a well known social activist of the State.
Bharat Vikas Parishad , Gandhi Nagar Branch celebrated the 71st Independence Day with fervor gaiety at Shivaji Chowk, Nanak Nagar yesterday.
Bharat Bushan Sharma, president of the Branch and Dr Ashok Kumar Kalsotra secretary of the Branch, Sardar Jagjit Singh its finance secretary and Bhopal Dutta chief organizer organized the function. Women Baking Team Leh led by Dr Sarika Mehta from Surat, Gujarat hoisted the National Flag at Khardonga la Top. All the arrangements for the flag hoisting ceremony were made by the Indian Army and NHPC under the supervision of NHPC, Chief Engineer (Elect) S Adhikari.
On the occasion of 71st Independence Day an impressive function was held at Jakhani Chowk Udhampur in which social worker Syed Peer Gulzar Shah unfurled the National Flag. He highlighted the sacrifices of freedom fighters while addressing the gathering and also appealed the people maintain peace and communal amity. The 71st Independence Day was also celebrated with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm at Doda Colony near here today.
Mera Sahara Women Welfare Society also celebrated the Independence Day at a function held at Sarwal here today. The Chairperson of the Society Ram Kumari unfurled the National Flag. On the occasion sweets were distributed among the participants.
The 71st Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal and fervor at Gujjar Nagar here yesterday. SHO Peer Mitha, Javed Malik hoisted the Tricolor on the occasion and took the salute along with officers and people of the surrounding areas which was followed by singing of National Anthem.
