BHADERWAH: The mountainous belt of Bhaderwah Valley, popularly known as mini Kashmir, today witnessed snowfall accompanied by hailstorm triggering cold- wave like situation in the region.
After a comparatively hot day, weather suddenly changed in the afternoon in the picturesque Bhaderwah Valley and its outskirts due to a storm and heavy rain followed by snowfall in the upper reaches unprecedented in the month of June.
“Due to a sudden change in the weather, the temperature dropped suddenly due to heavy rains and fresh snowfall in Kailash Hills, Seoj Dhar, Shankh Padri and Rishi Dal,” officials said.
“This is a very rare sight, as in the middle of June and suddenly we are compelled to wear jackets and woollen clothes to protect ourselves from chilly weather like in the winters,” said a resident of Sungli village in Bhaderwah. (AGENCIES)
