JAMMU, Apr 24: Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation (SNCF) organized 81 blood donation camps PAN India on Manav Ekta Diwas. In Jammu, the camp was held at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Shastri Nagar.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr Pawan Kotwal Financial Commissioner Revenue, who while speaking described the camp as the noblest act and the biggest donation. He said that serving the needy is the best devotion to God.
On the occasion, Dr Pawan Kotwal also donated the blood.
Other dignitaries present were Danish Rana, IGP J&K Armed Police, Sarita Chouhan Commissioner Secretary School Education, Dinesh Gupta Secretary Indian Red Cross Society Jammu, Dr Meena Sidhu HoD, Dr Renu Menia and Dr Anshu from Blood Bank GMC Jammu.
As many as 400 donors registered for this drive but only 198 obliged.
Ajit Singh, Zonal Incharge SNM said that right from 1986, the Mission has so far organized 6,076, blood donation camps in the country and donated 10,36,560 units of blood. During 2018-19, the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation, the social upliftment wing of the Sant Nirankari Mission, organized 516 camps where 84,058 units of blood were donated, he informed.
The camp was held in collaboration with Blood Bank GMC Jammu, Indian Red Cross Society Jammu and JKSACS.
A similar blood donation camp was organized by Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation in collaboration with Red Cross Society and District Health Society Udhampur.
Tehsildar Udhampur, Mohit Gupta, who was chief guest on the occasion, formally inaugurated the blood donation camp in presence of Zonal Incharge, Nirankari Charitable Foundation V P Singh. During the blood donation camp, as many as 150 volunteers from all sections of the society participated and donated blood for the noble cause to save precious lives.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest called upon the people to come forward to participate in the blood donation camps voluntarily to contribute their bit in the noble endeavour.
Zonal incharge Nirankari Charitable Foundation, V P Singh also spoke on the occasion. He informed that Sant Nirankari Mission has been continuously organizing blood donation camps from 1986 across the country as a part of observance of Manav Ekta Divas in remembrance of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Maharaj.
Among others, Secretary Red Cross Society, Dr V P Sharma, president Sant Nirankari Mandal, Rattan Lal Bamotra, officials of Blood Bank District Hospital and large number of volunteers were present on the occasion.
