This book is the part of the doctoral research, titled “A Linguistic Grammar of the Sarazi Language”, conducted by Ravi Parihar during 2014-19, under the supervision of Dr Amitabh V Dwivedi, Head, School of Languages and Literature, SMVDU. Notably, the book finds its place in the prestigious library of the University of Princeton, and falls under the descriptive grammar tradition of Field Linguistics.
Dr Dwivedi believes that this work will revitalise both the language and its culture, since the language is lesser-known.
The Lincom Europa Academic Publications published this title under the series Languages of the World/Materials. Earlier Dr Parihar has also served as a Research Assistant to ICSSR project, titled “A Comprehensive Study of Culture, Philosophy, Literature and Language”, under the Directorship of Dr Dwivedi who has also documented other lesser-known languages, such as “Haroti”, “Bhaderwahi”, and “Dogri”. This book will help future researchers working on endangered and vulnerable languages, and will assist theoretical linguists.
