JAMMU, Sept 17: Amid ongoing controversy over alleged sexual harassment of a scholar by the Professor who has been now sent of leave, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University has reconstituted the committee, which is looking into complaint of the victim.
A sudden notification in the late last evening for reconstitution of the SMVDU Internal Complaint Committee (ICC), which is mandated by the University Grants Commission for prevention, prohibition and redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions, has raised many eyebrows over intentions of the university authorities.

Further, according to another order, Dr Sharda M Potukuchi, who is learnt to have submitted her resignation as Presiding Officer of ICC, has been replaced from the position of Dean Academic Affairs. She was appointed DAA only a few months back for tenure of three years. She has been replaced by Dr Uday Pratap Singh with immediate effect.
However, resignation of Dr Sharda M Potukuchi as Presiding Officer of ICC has not been accepted as per the notification on re-constitution of ICC, in which faculty member Vinod Kumar, non-teaching employee Anu Suri and student member Akshita Sharma are the new entries in their respective categories, replacing three members of the earlier committee.
Meanwhile, the university has also ordered a reshuffle at the administration level by transferring three Deputy Registrars, four Assistant Registrars and one Section officer with immediate effect.
Deputy Registrar Tripti Saitu Gupta has been transferred from Establishment Wing to Store and Purchase Section, Samit Vohra from Store and Purchase Section to the Office of Dean Students Welfare &d DQA and Rajesh Sharma from Transport & Legal Wing to Research & Development Wing.
Asstt Registrar Vivek Verma has been transferred from Examination Wing to Transport & Legal Wing and Academic Affairs; Bhawna Mishra from Establishment ( Non-Teachings) , Directorate of Quality Assurance & Dean Students Welfare to Establishment (Teaching Affairs and Non-Teaching); Surinder Kumar from Research & Development Wing and Security Wing to Examination and Security Wing and Rahul Gupta from Academics Affairs Wing to VC Office while Section Office Yogeshwar Gupta has been transferred from VC Office to the Office of Registrar
