Srinagar, Sept 17: The Director of Health Services, Kashmir Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Rather today inaugurated a blood donation camp at JLNM hospital Srinagar.
The camp was held under ‘Raktadaan Amrit Mahatsova’-a nationwide blood donation campaign from September 17 to 1st October 2022.
On the occasion, the Director of Health Services appreciated all those who came forward for blood donation and appealed to people to donate blood to save lives. “Blood donation is one of the best gifts one can give to Humanity,” he said.
He said that blood donation camps will be held throughout the fortnight across Kashmir valley Hospitals under the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir.
While enumerating the benefits of blood donation, he urged people to come forward and become blood donors.
Nodal officer, Blood Bank DHSK, Dr. Nighat Nazir while giving details of various camps held under the aegis of the Directorate of health services said that 366 pints of blood were collected on day-one of the campaign.
