KAKRYAL, May 10: An awareness session on the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) was conducted at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University by the NEP SAARTHI volunteers.
The session, conducted by Aresha Qureshi, Abhishek Raj, and Nandita Gupta under the guidance of Prof Balbir Singh, Dean Academic Affairs and Dr Shafaq Rasool, Associate Dean Academic Affairs, aimed to familiarize students with the key features and benefits of the ABC system introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The session commenced with an introduction to NEP 2020 and its vision of creating a flexible, multidisciplinary, and student-centric education system. The volunteers explained the significance of the Academic Bank of Credits as a digital repository that enables students to earn, store, transfer, and redeem academic credits throughout their academic journey.
During the session, important aspects such as the concept of ABC, its benefits, and the process of registration were discussed in detail. A live demonstration was also conducted to guide students on how to create their ABC accounts and access the platform effectively.
The session witnessed active participation from students, who raised several queries regarding credit transfer, course validity, and practical implementation of the ABC framework. The volunteers addressed these questions comprehensively, ensuring clarity and better understanding among the participants.
The event concluded with an appeal to students to register on the ABC platform and make effective use of the flexibility and opportunities provided under NEP 2020 for shaping their academic and professional pathways.
