SRINAGAR, May 10: In view of the rising water level and strong currents in the River Sindh in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district police today issued a public advisory urging residents, visitors and tourists to stay away from the riverbanks to prevent accidents.
A police spokesperson said authorities, particularly cautioned youngsters against venturing near vulnerable spots along the river, warning that the fast-flowing waters could prove dangerous and lead to tragic incidents.
He added the advisory urged people not to bathe, swim or take selfies near the river. “Parents were also asked to keep a close watch on children and discourage them from going near the banks,” the spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, police appealed to the public to cooperate with the administration and follow all safety guidelines in the interest of protecting lives.
