Srinagar, Feb 28: Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has said that the citizens could get ‘Birth and Death’ certificates within one day.
SMC Health Officer Shafakat Khan said this is part of the process of e-governance launched by the Government.
“All the city hospitals have been linked through a network so that all the Birth and Death events are uploaded on daily basis on the data base of the Housing and Urban Development website so that citizens can have access to these records from their homes,” Khan said.
Khan who is also the Registrar of Births and Deaths said people can even download the certificates from their personal PC’s at home.
“The website, jkhudd.gov.in, allows access to the parent to the records of Birth of their children and allows downloading the digitally signed certificates. Those parents approaching SMC Birth and Death section can get the certificate issued on the same day,” he said.
