DODA, July 19: In a series of visits to ascertain the grievances of scientific staff, SKUAST-Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) under the leadership of its president Dr Vikas Sharma, visited Maize Research Center at Udhampur, Regional Horticulture Research Station, Bhaderwah and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Doda.
During the interactions, scientists highlighted their issues and demands. Dr Mahital Jamwal, Sr Scientist & I/c RHRS Bhaderwah, demanded additional scientific staff and a research laboratory at Sartangal Research Farm. Dr Ravneet Kour, Incharge KVK Doda, stressed for the provision of DDO powers to all Incharges so that the work could not suffer at outstations. Dr R Sudan, Incharge of MRC Udhampur sought timely release of due arrears and transfer of over stayed staff. Dr Sanjay Khajuria apprised SKUAST-TAJ president about various initiatives that can improve and ensure efficient delivery of services to the farmers of the region.
Besides highlighting shortage of non-teaching staff, delay in drawl of bills, the scientists requested for the provision of additional funds from the Varsity for the strengthening of watch & ward facility.
Dr Vikas Sharma assured the scientists that their issues will be taken on priority basis with the competent authority for immediate redressal. He assured the scientific staff that their professional interests will not be ignored as teaching association of SKUAST-J is working for the welfare of scientific fraternity and overall development of the University.
