JAMMU, July 22:  Professor Pradeep K Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST Jammu)  today launched the website www.iesconf.com  of the Indian Ecological Society (IES)  Conference  on ” Natural Resource Management : Ecological Perspectives”, which is being hosted by the university from February 18-20, 2016.
The multidisciplinary conference on natural resource management is aimed to discuss the issues concerning land and water resources, crop environment interactions against changing climate, integrated nutrient management, integrated pest management, forestry tree plantations, policy and planning for sustainable agricultural and rural development and farmers-industry-scientists interface for technology transfer and refinement, feedback mechanism and extension strategies.
In the conference about 300 delegates are expected from within the country and abroad. The  website provides all the information about theme areas, keynote speakers, online registration, submission of research papers etc.
Speaking at the launch of the website, vice chancellor, SKUAST Jammu emphasized on conserving natural resources and using these efficiently to sustain food production and productivity.
All the officers of the university, Dr  K S  Risam, Director Extension; Dr  T A S  Ganai, Director Education; Dr  R  M  Bhagat Dean Faculty of Agriculture; Dr  M M S  Zama, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry; Dr  B B  Gupta, Registrar; Dr  Deepak Kher, PPMO, Dr  V K  Razdan, University Librarian , Heads of the Divisions of Agriculture Faculty  and members of the organizing committee of the conference were present at the website launch.
Dr Rajinder Peshin, Vice President Indian Ecological Society and Organizing Secretary of the conference briefed about the importance of the conference. Prof S K  Kher presented a formal vote of thanks.
The function was organized by the Indian Ecological Society, J&K Chapter.
