JAMMU, Oct 4: SKUAST-Jammu bagged special prize for display of technology at 106th All India Farmer’s Fair at G B Pant University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Pant Nagar, Uttrakhand.
The award was presented by Dr Tej Pratap Singh, Vice Chancellor of the Pant University, in presence of various dignitaries. The team of SKUAST-J was led by Dr Vinod Gupta, Sr Scientist & Head, KVK Samba and accompanied by Dr L K Sharma, Sr Scientist, Div of Extension, Dr Berjesh Ajarawat, Scientist, Agriculture Extension, KVK Kathua and Dr G N Jha, Scientist, Fisheries, KVK Doda.
The scientists of SKUAST-J attracted more than 1000 farmers in its stall and showcased the technologies developed by SKUAST-Jammu, especially for the hill region in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry. The main attractions of the exhibition were the products made by the farmers who were trained by different KVKs of the SKUAST-Jammu. In addition, the fully automatic Egg-Incubator developed by Animal Scientist, KVK Samba has attracted large number of farmers.
During the 4- day Kisan Mela, farmers, farm women, entrepreneurs, scientists from different universities and ICAR institutes interacted with the scientists of SKUAST-Jammu.
