Srinagar, Nov 23 : To promote Kashmir tourism globally, SKAL International Club formally launched its Srinagar Chapter which will be headed by its founder President Mohammad Ibrahim Siah.
A team of 14 national members headed by its National Pesident, Ranjini Nambiar officially declared the Srinagar Chapter open in the presence of all the national members and 21 members from J&K.
Srinagar Chapter Club spokesperson, Nasir Shah said that it took them nearly nine months to complete the formalities as the club had to have members from tourism Industry with more than 25 years of experience.
He said that this is not an association but purely a club which works on the pattern of other global clubs and network within the family of 15000 plus members to share their experiences, cultures and betterment of its members.
While speaking on the occasion, National President of the Club, Ranjini Nambiar said that the organization will promote the Jammu and Kashmir globally as there are lots of people who do not know about the beauty of this place.
The National President said that there are lot travel advisories worldwide about Kashmir regarding safety and lot of people did not know about Kashmir in many parts of the world. “Through this kind of an organization, we will promote Kashmir globally. Kashmir will be featured in the newsletter and everybody worldwide gets to understand this place being one of the beautiful places in the world and safe to travel. We will encourage people from all parts of the world to travel Kashmir,” she said.
Former Director Tourism Kashmir, Mehmood Ahmad Shah and one of the members of the organization while speaking on the occasion said that the organization will give the tourism industry an opportunity to network with the people globally and this will address the negativity of Kashmir tourism across the globe.
SKAL is an autonomous body in International Tourism professionals with 15000 members globally in 184 countries including India.
