SAMBA, Oct 11: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Nana Ji Deshmukh a function was organized in Penthi village of Samba, by Sahara Jagarti Manch Institute (SJMI) which is imparting training to the women to make bags to become self-reliant.
The program was chaired by Pawan Sharma, a member of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and head of the Prime Minister’s Skill Development Programme Jammu Kashmir and chairman of the Samadhan Foundation Trust, by garlanding portrait of Bharat Ratna Nana Ji Deshmukh.
While addressing the program, Sharma said that today “We are remembering Nana Ji Deshmukh and call upon the youth to follow his footprints”. The members of Sahara Jagarti Manch Sansthan have imparted training to women to make them self-reliant. In the program, 50 women under training to make bags in sewing centre were honoured.
In the program, special guest Vikas Sambyal, in charge, Sahara Jagarti Manch Samba while wishing women good luck, said providing employment to all the women of rural areas of India will make self-reliant and prosperous India. He said women constitute half of the nation’s population and their role in nation building in no way is less important than men.
Addressing the women in the program, the Institute Chief Advisor, Simran Khanna said that soon 100 new sewing centres will be established at the district level in the hill stations of Samba to give major employment to the families living below the poverty line. Nisha Dhar, was also present in the program.
