JAMMU, Oct 12: Six more cases of Dengue were reported today taking the total number of patients suffering from the vector-borne disease in Jammu region to 72.
“Six persons including three adults and three children were today tested positive for Dengue virus, out of which four belonged to Jammu district while one each from Kathua and Rajouri districts”, Director Health Services (Jammu), Dr BS Pathania said.
“He said out of the three affected adults, two are males and one female. Similarly, out of the three Dengue affected children, two are male and one female”, he added. However, he said that majority of the patients affected with the disease who were admitted to various hospitals have been discharged after successful treatment.
Dr Pathania advised the people not to store water in open utensils and allow stagnation of water in their surroundings, as stagnant water is a breeding ground for Dengue mosquitoes. He also advised the people to prevent themselves from mosquito bites.
