JAMMU, Sept 6: Six persons were arrested today by Bishnah police in an assault case.
According to a police spokesman, a written complaint was lodged by a woman namely Nitu, wife of Banka Ram, resident of Ward No 6, Bishnah, stating that on September 3 her son, Janu went to shop for purchase something in the mohalla and while he was returning from shop, ten to twelve persons stopped his way near our residence and attacked him with sharp edged weapons and lathies.
“She further said that on hearing his cries, she along with her husband and daughter rushed to the spot to save her son but the accused persons also attacked them and fled from the spot leaving them in pool of blood”, the spokesman said.
He said that in this connection, a case FIR No 189/2017 under Section 341/ 323/ 147/ 148/ 149 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act was registered against the accused persons and after conducting various raids the main accused involved in the crime namely Rakesh Kumar son of Ved Parkash, Sonu son of Tilak Raj, Raj Kumar son of Gopal Dass, Vicky son of Tilak Raj, Varun alias lucky son of Dharmveer Kumar and Kamal Kumar son of Yashpal, all residents of Ward No 6, Bishnah were arrested and weapon of offence recovered from them while and hunt was on to arrest the other absconding accused persons.
