JAMMU, Apr 17: Panun Kashmir (PK) convener, Dr Agnishekhar has appealed to all Kashmiri Hindus to defeat the nefarious designs of vested interests and not fall in the preposterous move regarding their return and rehabilitation in Kashmir Valley.
In a statement issued here, today after his return from Valley where he was a part of delegation to take the stock of the prevailing situation, Dr Agnishekhar categorically said that the situation is not conducive for the return of displaced Pandits to Valley as there is no change on ground in the situation that was in 1989 and 90 when the minority Hindus forced exodus took place on the behest of Jehadis and Islamist forces.
He said the current situation in Valley demands a yet another bold solution of reversal of genocide of Kashmir Pandits by carving out a separate Union Territory in the North and East of the Valley for nationalistic Kashmiri Pandits living in exile for last 31 years.
Agnishekhar said the false optimism sought to be created by the BJP and RSS leader, Dattatrey Hossable during an on line address belies the ground realities in the Valley, which continue to be as grim as these were in 1990.
“In view of my personal assessment of the ground realities in Kashmir, I reiterate, contrary to what the current dispensation at the Centre and some of its organs may like the people to believe, the fact remains it is impossible for the exiled Kashmiri Pandits to return under prevalent circumstances”, the statement added.
“I was alarmed at a narrative sought to be build at Navreh programmes in Srinagar and an on line events.” “My apprehension stem out of the first hand experience gained by me during my extensive travelling and parleys in Kashmir”, the PK leader said.
He alleged that there is a definite plot to mislead and trap the exiled Kashmiri Pandit community into believing their return to Homeland was now a possibility.
Agnishekar, while expressing concern over grabbing of Hindu shrines land like Chakreswar in Srinagar and other shrines as well said a large-scale institutionalised conspiracy to deny Kashmiri Pandits all opportunities to contemplate return is starkly evident in the Valley as demonstrated by the relentless attacks on non-Muslim places of worship, forcible occupation of left over KP properties and intending settlers.
