NEW DELHI, June 17: Amid weak global trend, silver prices fell by Rs 76 to Rs 36,772 per kg in futures market today as participants trimmed positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July contracts shed Rs 76, or 0.21 per cent, to touch Rs 36,772 per kg in a business turnover of 185 lots.
Also, the white metal for delivery in September lost Rs 62, or 0.17 per cent to Rs 37,309 per kg in five lots.
Analysts said reducing of positions by speculators tracking a weak trend in global markets mainly put pressure on silver prices at futures trade here.
Silver prices slipped as investors await the outcome of a Federal Reserve meeting later in the day and a gathering of European finance ministers set to discuss the debt crisis in Greece.
Globally, silver fell 0.4 per cent to USD 15.98 an ounce in Singapore. (PTI)
