JAMMU, Apr 3: Unknown gunmen travelling in a car attacked the residence of a contractor in Gandhi Nagar area this evening.
As per police sources, an information was received at Police Station Gandhi Nagar regarding firing incident at the residence of contractor Choudhary Nagar Singh at Gandhi Nagar.
On getting information, police team led by SDPO South Purshotam Mengi and SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Bharat Sharma rushed to the spot to verify the incident and identify the men who were travelling in the car and opened the fire on businessman’s residence.
Cartridges were recovered from inside the residence. In the firing, the main gate of the house and a car bearing registration number HP38F-6187 suffered damage. All the family members of the contractor, who were inside the house at the time of firing, are safe.
Cognizance stands taken by Gandhi Nagar Police in this regard.
However, no arrest was made till last reports were compiled.
