JAMMU, Dec 11:  The ongoing indefinite hunger strike by shortlisted candidates for the post of Warden in Jail Police, who are up in arms against unprecedented delay in release of the final selection list, entered into 10th day today.
Two of the protesting candidates on fast, namely Ashwani Kumar and Jaffer Javed, were forcibly shifted by Police to GMC Hospital in view of their deteriorating condition. They were replaced by Jagpal Singh and Bharat Bhushan, who sat on hunger strike.
Today, all the protesting candidates were seen tying black ribbon on their forehead. They vowed to continue their struggle to logical conclusion and warned the Government not to test their patience.
Pertinent to mention that about 43000 unemployed youth had applied for the post, advertised in local dailies in 2005 and 1200 candidates were short listed for the interview, which were held in the month of September 2010.
However, even after more than three years since the interview, the final selection list has not yet been released.
The protesting candidates urged the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to look into the matter and issue direction for release of final selection list.
