JAMMU, Mar 9: “Aasen Da Chann”, a short story book of renowned Dogri writer and News Broadcaster Narinder Bhasin was released today by Dogri Sanstha Jammu in ceremony attended by a large number of writers of different languages, intellectuals, artists and journalists.
DC Raina, Advocate General of J&K State was the chief guest while Dr.Lalit Magotra, Convenor Dogri Advisory Board Sahitya Academy Delhi, presided over the function. Additional Secretary of J&K Cultural Academy Dr. Arvinder Singh Aman was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Raina lauded the contribution of Narinder Bhasin towards the service of mother language Dogri. He mentioned his earlier publications “Char Dishan-Char Dham” a travelogue and “Suchi Samhal” a short essay collection which created ripples in the creative Dogri literature. Sh. Raina said this book gives a vivid picture of Dogra civilization. He also emphasised the need to protect Dogri language and the unique culture of Dogra heartland.
Dr.Lalit Magotra in his presidential address said that this short story collection is unique due to some of its characteristics. In these stories, characters and events have been defined with utmost detail. He added that this book displays Narinder Bhasin’s creative approach, ethereal vision and incisive thinking that will enrich the Dogri literature to achieve new heights of excellence. He expressed confidence that the book will grab the attention of the readers and they will be curious to read the whole book.
Dr. Arvinder Singh Aman praised Narinder Bhasin’s efforts for enriching the Dogri language by contributing in different types of literature.
Earlier eminent Dogri Writer, thinker and President Dogri Sanstha Jammu, Chhatarpal, welcomed the distinguished guests and highlighted the contribution of Narinder Bhasin in the field of Dogri News Broadcasting and Dogri Literature. He said this book of short stories will definitely make an everlasting impact on readers due to its fresh approach and unique style.
The programme was conducted by famous Poet, Academician and General Seceratary of Dogri Sanstha Dr. Nirmal Vinod.
