UDHAMPUR, May 16: Shopkeepers of new bus stand and locals held a protest demonstration against lack of basic facilities in the area.
The protesting shopkeepers and locals raised slogans against the district administration and Udhampur Municipal Committee (UMC), holding them responsible for the poor state of new bus stand area.
They were demanding basic facilities at new bus stand Udhampur, which is no poor condition with bad condition of road, no water and light facilities. They alleged that the four illegal bus stand and mini bus stand were operation at MH Chowk, in front of Bishv Karma temple, Salathia Chowk and near Deputy Commissioner Office.
The shopkeepers said that they had deposited huge money to Municipal Committee Udhampur for hiring shops in the area but there was no shifting of bus stand even after 15 years.
