SRINAGAR, May 16: In order to further augment the health infrastructure, 33 mega projects with an estimated cost of Rs 723.84 crore are under execution across the State by the JKPCC which are at different stages of completion.
This information was given to Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat during a review meeting. It was informed that an amount of Rs. 608.61 crore has been released against the estimated cost, out of which Rs. 424.39 crore have been spent till date and work on these projects is in full swing.
The Minister had detailed appraisal of each project from the executing agency and concerned officers and stressed the need for speeding up the efforts to complete these in a time bound manner. He laid special emphasis on quality and specification of each project and directed for regular monitoring by executing authorities and users departments to ensure optimum utilization of these assets. He also called upon the JKPCC authorities and heads of various health institutions to maintain close coordination for achieving the targets as per schedule.
The Minister also directed the concerned HoDs to take possession of assets only when they are completed in all respects and strictly as per the DPRs and specifications. The executing agency will be fully accountable with regard to quality and specifications of projects, and any lapse/deficiency related to the construction work, if noticed at any point of time will be viewed seriously, he asserted.
