JAMMU, Sept 15: Police arrested two persons including a shopkeeper alongwith large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from Khour and Akhnoor areas.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Khour police station conducted raid in a shoes selling shop and recovered 32 pouches of illicit liquor.
Police team arrested the shopkeeper on the spot, who has been identified as Girdhari Lal, son of Ditta Ram of Khour Camp. The accused used to sell the liquor pouches among the people on exorbitant rates
A case under FIR Number 67/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against the accused at Khour police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, police team from Akhnoor police station laid a naka at Daskal Morh and arrested a person alongwith 39 pouches of illicit liquor.
The bootlegger has been identified as Sikandar Singh, son of Rashpal Singh, a resident of Chowki Choura.
A case under FIR Number 171/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered in this regard at Akhnoor police station and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Khour police station SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta and SHO Akhnoor police station Inspector Pushpinder Singh made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajeev Pandey.
