RAJOURI, Apr 5: A sweets shop was completely gutted in a mysterious fire incident at Khwas in district Rajouri during last night.
Reports reaching here said that the fire took place in the shop of one Ranjeet Singh, son of Surant Singh during last mid night. The shop was completely reduced to ashes within hand an hour. Even a freezer containing cold drinks, juices and sweets etc was also totally damaged besides furniture and other items.
Sarpanch Halqa Khwas, Gian Chand said that mysterious fire took place in the shop of Ranjeet Singh during intervening night of April 4 and 5. He said there is routine night patrolling of police in the main market. The cops however, claimed that till 12 midnight everything was alright. But this incident took place after 1 am. The loss of property to the tune of over Rs 7-8 lakh has been reported. The police has taken cognizance of the matter. The owner suspects some foul play.
