JAMMU, Mar 17: Police arrested a shooter and his accomplice for firing in marriage function and also recovered the weapon.
As per police sources, a team led by SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan and assisted by SHO Arnia Inspector Harminder Singh arrested a shooter and his accomplice who fired in a marriage function at Arnia on Saturday.
The arrested persons were identified as Ghara Singh, son of Surjeet Singh and Vikram Jeet Singh, son of Satpal Singh.
Ghara Singh, son of Surjeet Singh who fired in a marriage function in air and frightened baratis and his accomplice Vikram Jeet Singh were caught after different teams of Arnia Police Station swung into action taking cognizance of the matter.
Country made revolver was also recovered from Ghara Singh.
A case under FIR Number 11/2020 under Sections 336 IPC and 3/25 Arms Act stands registered at Police Station Arnai and further investigation into the case is going on.
Though motive of the shooter was not immediately known as police has said that they are investigating the matter.
