Shiv Sena seeks special seats in J&K colleges for war affected students

JAMMU, Mar 4: Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir unit has demanded provision of special seats in medical colleges of Jammu and Kashmir for the students who were studying in Ukraine and had to return back home due to Russia-Ukraine war that has been going on for the past more than a week.
Addressing a press conference, UT President Manish Sahni said that the career of the students of Jammu and Kashmir who were forced to return due to war between Russia and Ukraine is at stake now.
He appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to provide special and additional seats in J&K colleges free of cost so that the affected students do not lose their crucial academic year. He demanded that the students should be provided the facility as per their subject and year.
Sahni also made a appeal to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Ministers of other states and Union Territories to take appropriate steps for providing free education to the affected students in their respective states so that they will able to continue their further education without any break.
Among others present were President Women’s Wing Meenakshi Chhibber, Vikas Bakshi, GI Singh, Rakesh Gupta, Harsh Gupta, Balwant Singh and Deepak.
