UDHAMPUR, Mar 9: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray J&K unit today organised a grand Shoba Yatra to mark the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri.
The Shoba Yatra was taken out through main market of Udhampur wherein tableaus depicting messages of Bhagwan Shiva passed through different areas of the town.
Later on a Bhandra was also organized at Shiv Sena office.
Speaking on the occasion, Manish Sahni, president Shiv Sena J&K unit prayed to Almighty that Maha Shivratri festival may bring peace and prosperity in J&K.
He said that J&K is a beautiful vase of colourful flowers and this beauty cannot be trampled by any provocative attempt.
The Shiv Sena leader said that people have freedom to practice their religion and nobody has a right to interfere.
“We will fight all attempts of creating wedge between different segments of the society,” he maintained urging the people to stand united against the elements trying to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere.
He also said that communal amity is the core of Jammu’s glorious ethos which shall be preserved at all costs.
Shiv Sena women wing president, Meenakshi Chhibber; general secretary, Vikas Bakshi; president Udhampur, Sanjeev Sharma, Geeta Lakhotra, Balveer Singh, Dimple, Tarsem, Meena Kumari, Ashwani Prabaker, Anil Vijay, Ramesh Verma, Rajesh, Vishal Verma, Rajinder Singh, Imtiaz Hussain, Sahil Gandotra, Raj Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
