This has reference to the news item ‘Jammu’s BC road converted into undeclared bus, mini-bus stands’ Feb 22.
The conversion of ever busy BC Road into bus stand speaks about official apathy and Government’s inability to streamline traffic system in the State. Despite knowing fully that BC Road remains clogged with big buses in the morning and evening hours, nothing much has been done in this matter. Jammu city is witnessing huge traffic every day with no respite from traffic jams and road accidents. There is urgent need to decongest the city roads by shifting the present bus stand somewhere else, and making the Khanpur bus stand operational in the interest of passengers.
The Jammu city in its present shape can’t beer increasing traffic rush. The city is facing many problems on account of traffic mismanagement. Keeping the future of the city in view, it is imperative that different bus stands for different zones be made operational. The city dwellers will have to suffer in case no remedial measures are taken right now.
