Shia Federation highlights issues of community

JAMMU, Aug 31: Shia Federation Jammu Province organized a one-day convention in Poonch, wherein issues of Shia community were highlighted by the participants.
The convention was attended by thousands of peoples from different Shia organizations.
Speaking on the occasion, president, Shia Federation, Ashiq Hussain Khan said that the successive Governments have neglected Shia community in all parts of life. He said that there is no basic facilities in Shia villages and people are suffering a lot.
Maintaining that Shia community in Jammu has no representation in Upper House or Lower House, he demanded the Government to reserve a seat for Shia community of Jammu in Upper House. He said that Government should give reservation to Shia community on the pattern of other communities.
He also demanded scholarship for Shia Students and also a job package for educated unemployed. He also demanded that Shia students be given reservation in professional and technical educations and representation in PSC and SSRB. He also demanded to establish students’ hostels in Jammu as well as Kashmir.
