JAMMU, Nov 19: Sher Singh has been elected as new president of Jammu Poonch Bus Service Union.
According to Rajeev Sharma, General Manager, Jammu Poonch Bus ( 2×3) Service Union, the election for the post of Union president was held here today under the chairmanship of former MP, S. Trilok Singh Bajwa and the supervision of the Advisory Board constituted for the purpose.
Out of the total 320 votes, 319 were polled. Sher Singh bagged 186 votes while his opponent and sitting president, Bharat Bhushan Gupta got 133 votes. The Election Board declared Sher Singh as winner with the margin of 53 votes. The other office bearers of the Union will be inducted shortly, the GM added.
