Shehnaz urges GoI to reconsider decision on cross- LoC trade

POONCH, Apr 21: Expressing grave concern over suspension of cross-LoC trade, former MLC and National Conference leader, Shehnaz Ganai has urged Government of India to reconsider the decision as the same is going to badly effect the local traders and unemployed youth who used to do cross LoC trade.
She also appealed the Governor Satya Pal Malik to take up the matter with Union Home Ministry, Government of India, so that full body scanners are installed and the illegal trade, if any happening on the LoC, gets stopped.
Shehnaz Ganai was addressing a gathering at Poonch where she was given a rousing reception on her arrival here after being nominated as member in State Wakaf Council.
She said that Wakaf properties are in shambles and under illegal occupation of various Government Departments. “There is dire need to safeguard the Wakaf property and streamline the working and affairs of the Wakaf keeping in view to properly protecting the property,” she added.
Shehnaz Ganai also thanked the people for such a warm welcome and for reposing their trust in her. She said that it is only because of the blessings of Almighty Allah and support of the people that has made it possible to get nominated as member of the State Wakaf Council of J&K.
Besides general public of the area, Mufti Farooq Hussain Misbahi, member State Wakaf Council and various religious heads of the area were also present on the occasion.
