JAMMU, Apr 27: Shri Sanatan Dharam Sheetal Nath, Ashram Sabha , Srinagar has shown its grave concern over the putting up of temporary toilet complexes that too in the middle of the temple complex at revered shrine of Sheetal Nath and urged the authorities to vacate the same without any delay as this has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus.
In a letter to Lt Governor, J&K , Manoj Sinha the spokesperson of the Sabha , U K Handoo has sought his immediate intervention in the matter. He said that some Government Department has put up temporary toilets within the Shital Nath Temple Complex and that too in the middle of the premises. He said this act of the Department Is shameful and has played with the sentiments of the community. The temple is historically known across the globe and to put up toilets in Mandir premises is outrageous, he added.
He said the Department has not even bothered to contact the management to seek their permission and advice. In his appeal to Lt. Governor he prayed “I therefore approach yourself good self to direct the administration to look into the matter forthwith and remove these toilets immediately. The community will be grateful for early action’’.
He also said that three polling stations have been created in temple premises without the knowledge of the Sabha .
