Srinagar, Apr 27: In a bid to enhance the understanding of regional surgical disorders among undergraduate MBBS students, the Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar today successfully concluded an educational initiative.
Led by Prof (Dr) Iqbal Saleem Mir, Head of the Department of Minimal Access and General Surgery at GMC Srinagar, the program has been termed as a significant milestone in medical education and professional development.
Under the Laparoscopic Skill Advancement Program (LAPSAP), the initiative brought together students and faculty members for a comprehensive day of learning activities and discussions.
Participants engaged in informative presentations and hands-on workshops, delving into various topics such as gastrointestinal disorders and urological conditions. These sessions provided practical insights into diagnosis and treatment methodologies.
“Throughout the day, our MBBS students showcased their newfound knowledge and expertise, delving into a wide range of topics spanning gastrointestinal disorders, urological conditions, and beyond,” GMC spokesman said.
Prof (Dr) Iffat Hassan Shah, Principal/Dean of GMC Srinagar, praised the initiative, highlighting its importance in preparing future medical professionals to address the region’s healthcare challenges effectively.
