JAMMU, May 20: Emphasizing need for early release of 10% DA due from January last and 4th installment of 6th Pay Commission arrears in favour of State Government employees and pensioners, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today demanded Chief Minister to release the same, as the State Cabinet is going to meet tomorrow at Srinagar.
Addressing a largely attended NMC activists’ rally at Gandhi Nagar, its president, Subhash Shastri, said there is no justification on the part of the State Government for withholding pending installment of DA to its employees and pensioners, as the same has already been released by the Centre as well as many State Governments during model code of conduct, which is now over and so there should be no hitch on part of J&K Government in releasing the DA arrears as it is a part of the salary and pension.
Shastri also pressed the Government to release 4th installment of 6th Pay Commission arrears, alleging that the funds for the same has already been earmarked in the current State Budget of the State.
The other demands highlighted by Shastri include enhancement of medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month, early amendment in SRO 64, removal of all pay anomalies in SRO 93 particularly clerical staff, regularization of services of all daily wagers working in various departments of State Government, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily wagers working in RDD, merger of 50% DA into basic pay and pension and enhancement of wages of daily wagers to Rs 10, 000 per month.
